Out of bed around 7:00 or so. Spent the morning doing various computer-related things at home -- catching up on email (reading it, at least -- still lots of stuff in the 'reply-to' queue), moving files over to the iBook, a bit of web surfing while waiting for the laptop to sync up, etc. By the time I was done, it was almost lunch time, so I went and had some lunch before heading over to the hospital.
On the way to the hospital, after lunch, TheMom called and asked me to bring her something -- the hospital fare o' the day was just too awful. Swung ye olde minivan around and headed back to Subway to pick up something for her.

Eventually, got to the hospital, to find one somewhat-tired-but-hangin'-in-there Mom and the cutest baby in the world. TheMom got to have some lunch, and take a shower, and I got to hang out and do some work with TheBaby. Pretty much everybody was happy with the arrangement.

That was pretty much the way the day went, with occasional interruptions by various medical staff. We had blood drawn a couple of times (we don't like that), we had our temp taken (don't care for that too much either), we got weighed, etc. TheBaby's temp has been running a bit low -- but the room was fairly seriously air-conditioned, and we had no way to change that. A message was finally passed to maintenence, and that seemed to take care of that problem. TheBaby's weight is also still going down -- which is expected, but the docs would like to see it start to increase again, or at least to plataeu. Personally, I think they're looking for things to be alarmed at.

The other big event of the day was the lovely basket of goodies from our friends M. and D. (and their two little people, A. and K.). TheMom was quite happy to see that it included muffins; she was already planning tomorrow's breakfast.
My hunger eventually won out over my desire to hang with Mom and Baby, and I packed up and headed home for the evening around 8:30 or 9 pm. Right as I was leaving, the nurse discovered that the IV was leaking a bit, and decided to move it to the other hand. I really didn't want to watch that, having had my fill of strangers sticking my kid with needles for the day, so it seemed like I had timed my exit fairly well.
Came home, ordered a pizza, played email catchup again, did some work, ate, did some more work, and went to bed, around midnight.
Should be home in a little more than two days.
