Got up around 7:30, hit the work-out room, and then settled in for some web and mail catch-up. Around 10:50, headed out to the OB, to get TheWife's cervix ripened. Basically, since we're being induced, they have to get the cervix to start dilating and effacing before they start the labor inducing drugs -- otherwise, Bad Things could happen.

Around 11:30, left the OB's office. TheWife was now packing a Foley cather in the obvious place; the idea is to put mechanical pressure on the cervix from above, which is pretty much what causes the whole dilation process to start. She would experience mild contractions pretty much the rest of the day.

Came back home and walked the wife up the stairs, then headed back out to score some lunch. Returned with the lunch, ate it, then decided it was about nap time. I ended up napping about an hour longer than intended, which pretty much threw off the rest of the day -- not that there was anything too exciting in that schedule.

After I finally roused, we headed out to the mall to do a bit of walking (also good for the cervical ripening thing). We made a couple circuts, which took a couple of hours, given TheWife's current slow pace. After that, we came back home.

Once I took a catch-up pass through the mail queue, I started cooking dinner. Just some plain old pasta, but I think it turned out pretty well. We watched a movie during and after dinner, and after that TheWife headed to bed pretty quickly -- we've got to be at the hospital tomorrow at 6:30, which means getting up about 4:30 or 5:00 to get last minute things taken care of. I followed about an hour later.

Baby day minus one.

Exercise: 24 minutes at L7 'hill' for 8.6 miles.
