Crawled out of bed about 10 am, slighly hung-over. Slouched around on various pieces of furniture for a while, playing WarCraft and/or watching Tour coverage. About 11:15, TheWife, D., and I finally got a plan in our heads, and we set out for Tysons Corner, to visit the Apple Store. (shiny!) I wanted to look for a laptop bag, and D. is looking for some specialized audio cable, so that he can MP3-ize his tape collection.

We got down there, marveled at the monument to consumerism that is Tysons Corner, hit the Apple Store, and recoiled at the prices they wanted for things. D. found the cable, but only as part of a Toast boxed set. Since he already has a copy of Toast, he didn't feel like buying another. I found the two kinds of laptop bags they sell, and didn't feel like paying $40 for a foam sleeve, or $150 for something approaching a decent bag. I think some trips to various other places are in order before my upcoming trip.

We made our way home via a local pizza place, where we picked up lunch. When we got home, we found out that Greg had called about 5 minutes after we left, letting us know that he and Jessamyn would be arriving around 5:30 or so. Upon hearing this news, we all settled in for a combination of Tour coverage, naps, and WarCraft playing.

Greg and Jessamyn arrived almost exactly on time, and we tore into the business of the evening: sitting around drinking beer and chatting. A good time was had by all. Somewhere in there, we had a buncha munchies: cheese, crackers, snack mix, etc; we also had a nice steak'n'potato dinner which everybody seemed to enjoy. After dinner, even more beer was consumed, many indie rock songs were played, and many stories were told.

Really an excellent day, marred only by the knowledge that I have to go to work tomorrow.
