Rolled out of bed around 6 am or thereabouts. Spent a slightly longer than normal amount of time at the web/mail/chat/coffee stage, since I'm basically caught up at the moment, and would like to keep it that way. Finally hopped in the shower and made it out of the house about 9 am.

Took TheWife over to the post office so that she could deal with various postal complications caused by the recent rate hike. Finally got that straightened out, dropped her back home (having one car sort of sucks at times), and jetted into work, arriving just after 10 am.

Spent the morning playing email catchup, had the weekly systems meeting, braved the heat and humidity to pick up some Chinese food for lunch, then had the weekly systems/developer meeting first thing in the afternoon. Since tomorrow is a holiday, and since several people are on vacation, both meetings were less unpleasant than they normally tend to be, which is good. They weren't really all that much shorter, but I guess I'll take what I can get.

Finally settled down to do some Actual Productive Work about 3:30 or so. I cleaned up several minor TODO items today, building a lot of software that people had requested, and updating the scripts that manage shell variables for us, so that people could use the software. I finally ran out of steam around 9 pm or so, making it a moderately productive 11 hour day.

Stopped on the way home to grab a burrito (and some chips and guac for the pregnant lady, who was adamant that she was "not having cravings!". okay, honey, whatever you say -- here's yer green goo.) Ate burrito while watching the back half of a cheesy modern Western (I think American Outlaws was the name...) Did a bit of email/web/chat, then staggered off to bed around 11:30 or so.

Good day. Better day would have featured more burritos, fewer meetings, but still, overall, good day.
